What Sets Our Research Apart!
At Say It Loud Advocates Research Network, we are your voice for justice! Join us in the fight against poverty and empower communities through meaningful change. We partner with local, state, and federal government systems to ensure equity, access, and opportunity for all.
Together, we can make a real difference. Our research zeroes in on the inequalities disenfranchised communities face, focusing on critical areas such as public health, education, criminal justice, and community development.
1. Expanding Safety Net Programs
The pandemic exposed major gaps in America’s safety net, leaving millions struggling with basic needs and economic insecurity. We emphasize improving essential programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to enhance support for those in need. Our research advocates for reforms to streamline access to unemployment benefits and remove barriers, ensuring swift and equitable aid during economic crises.
2. Raising the Minimum Wage for Economic Stability
A living wage is essential for financial security. By advocating for a higher minimum wage, we aim to uplift workers and provide them with the means to cover living expenses, reduce stress, and enable savings. A wage increase also promotes economic growth, as it allows more people to spend on goods and services, benefiting both individuals and businesses.
3. Increasing Funding for Equitable K-12 Public Education
Equitable education is the foundation of a fair society. By focusing on increased funding for K-12 public schools in underserved areas, we can improve educational opportunities for all children, enabling them to acquire the skills needed for future success. Our research supports policy changes that will make high-quality education accessible and allow families to meet their childcare and educational needs.
Here’s What Our Strategic Community Impact Research Focuses On:
4. Developing Restorative Justice Programs
Restorative justice promotes rehabilitation and reduces recidivism. We are committed to developing programs for youth and formerly incarcerated individuals, offering safe spaces for dialogue, resources for skill-building, and connections to community support. These initiatives help justice-involved individuals reintegrate positively, fostering understanding and reducing repeat offenses.
5. Investing in Permanent Supportive Housing to Decrease Homelessness
Permanent supportive housing is key to combating homelessness. Our research highlights the importance of providing stable housing along with access to essential support services like counseling and employment resources. By advocating for investments in permanent housing solutions, we aim to ensure everyone has a safe, supportive environment to help them thrive.

Lack of Resources
Many residents expressed a significant lack of resources related to environmental education and programming. This scarcity undermines their ability to participate in environmental advocacy and to protect their local environments effectively.
Health Impacts of Noise Pollution
Noise pollution has emerged as a pressing health issue in these areas. The physical impacts include heightened stress levels and disrupted daily living, which disproportionately affect the most vulnerable populations.
Education and Awareness
There is a critical need for educational campaigns tailored to the needs of these communities. Enhancing awareness and understanding of environmental justice can empower residents, enabling them to make informed decisions and advocate for their rights and well-being.
Key Findings
Community Inflation Research Findings- 2023
Our 2023 summer community survey focused on exploring the implications of harmful impacts from tax inflation, specifically for individuals living below the poverty line. During our survey, we reached out to respondents aged 18-74 who are facing financial challenges.
Our findings were eye-opening and shed light on the disproportionate effects of inflation on BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) consumers. A staggering 75% of our respondents expressed that inflation significantly impacts their ability to afford goods and services. These findings highlight the urgent need for further research and proactive measures to address these inequalities.
